William Forsythe - In the Company of Others

The exhibition opens November 19. at 7pm

William Forsythe (born 1949) is a super star in the world of dance and is widely considered to be one of the greatest living choreographers. He is internationally acclaimed for his work with Ballet Frankfurt, as well as the dance company Forsythe Company and his choreography holds a significant place in dance history. 

Over the last decade, William Forsythe has made his mark on the international art scene with grand art installations, choreographic objects, as well as film and video works. 

The exhibition, William Forsythe In the Company of Othersbrings Forsythe’s projects into play with works by a range of international contemporary artists: Manon De Boer, Gerard Byrne, Maria Meinild, Bruce Nauman, Rashaad Newsome, Magnus Pettersen and Sturtevant. All the works in the exhibition touch on aspects of the relationship between body, space, objects and community in various ways. 

William Forsythe has exhibited internationally at prominent institutions such as Centre Pompidou in Paris,Tate Modern in London, the Venice Art Biennale, Renaissance Society in Chicago and MMK Frankfurt. 

The exhibition is realised in collaboration with Den Danske Scenekunstskole København - Efteruddannelsen and is curated by Mathias Kryger.
