Vacancy: Professorship in conceptual and contextual practices

For the Academy of Fine Arts' master's program, we are now looking for a professor in conceptual and contextual practices.

The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Visual Arts, seeks a profiled visual artist with solid practice experience for a position as professor at the School of Conceptual and Contextual Practices for the Schools of Visual Arts’ master’s programme.

We expect you to have a distinctive artistic practice, visions for art education in the future, and a passion for teaching and further developing an international education programme at the highest level.

The School for Conceptual and Contextual Practices focuses on inclusive, site-specific, installation, conceptual, and performative practices within visual art. Historically, the School’s task has been to offer education in public art and create opportunities for ‘tackling work commissions in the community’.

Focus is chiefly on artistic practices that go beyond classic media such as painting and sculpture, performed at the crossroads between art and the area surrounding it. Although the School for Conceptual and Contextual Practices is not media- and practice-specific, we nevertheless expect you to have a distinctive and professional artistic practice within the area.
