ADMISSION – ACADEMIC YEAR 2010-2011

In order to apply for admission to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Schools of Visual Arts to start your studies at the Basic Studies Department, you will have to:
• Register as an applicant
• Pay an application fee of DKK 500.00
• Fill in an application form
• Hand in a fixed number of art works for evaluation.

It is OPTIONAL whether you want to appear in person and hand in your physical art works OR you want to upload your art works digitally through the internet.
Irrespective of the way the art works are handed in, all applicants must register and fill in the application form online.

Tuition fee

According to Government Order No 746 as of June 21, 2007, the Schools of Visual Arts must charge a tuition fee from international students, i. e. students who are not EU or EEA citizens, admitted to the studies after January 1, 2008.

Curriculum

According to the Government order on the education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Schools of Visual Arts as of June 16, 2000, the Schools of Visual Arts must put down its rules and aims in a curriculum.

Period of study

The officially stipulated time of study is six years, consisting of the two-year foundation course (obligatory), a two-year intermediate course and a two-year advanced course. The school year consists of two terms, autumn and spring term, and runs from September 1st to June 30rd.
